Task 1:
TASK 2
A very important blogging tool is the ”EMBED” option, which allows you to place a picture, a YouTube video, a picture slideshow, a digital book, a poster or a widget on your blog.
On the blog that you created last week, please embed three items:
1) A You Tube video related to a topic you will teach this month (Example).
2) A picture gallery with your students or with your students work (Example).
To do this, you will need to follow three simple steps:
- find the embed code of the other online tool or document
- find the embed code of the other online tool or document
- drag the EMBED option from the left side toolbar of your Weebly blog
- copy paste the embed code on your blog and save/publish
See more tutorials below:
Place the links of your blog pages where you embedded the You Tube video, the picture slideshow and the Scribd document below, in the ”Comments” section. Enjoy exploring the EMBED option!
See more tutorials below:
For example, to post the power point presentations on our project blog, I use Scribd, one of the biggest online libraries on the web. Your students can find free online books there, such as A Christmas Carol, The Gift of the Magi or Alice in Wonderland for example. You can find ESL/EFL teaching materials, such as ESL Pairwork Games or Grammar in Use books. I uploaded my presentation on Scribd, found the ”EMBED” option, copied the embedding code on Weebly, after dragging the ”EMBED CODE” box from the tool box on the left side of the page.
TASK 3

Blogging can turn in a powerful teaching tool.
ReplyDeleteBoth students and teachers are connected to internet every day. It provides us a quick way to access a variety of videos, pictures, exercises, etc... It also allows teachers to post and check the assignments any time of the day, as well as students to do the task whenever they are inspired to do it.
Secondly, it makes learning much more interesting because students feel "outside" of their usual environment -pen, notebook and book. They are creative when watching a video by themselves in their own setting and create the comment on it. Even typing instead of writing with a pen looks more exciting and cool.
Moreover, students have the opportunity to read their colleagues' homework, too. This fact encourages them to work as hard as they can to give the best results. They can search for more information online, which allows them to explore the studied topic in details.
As a result, blogging makes both teaching and learning easy and exciting.
Eugenia - your blog hasn't been published yet - click on the blue PUBLISH button in the upper right corner of your blog frame and then post the link again. Here is a short tutorial for your help:

DeleteEugenia, you have a great, elaborate, complex blog. I liked the fact that you created separate subpages for each grade and that your students have already posted homework assignments online. Keep integrating the blog into your daily teaching! Just polish the ”GRAMMAR” page. The ”PROJECTS” page is a website page, so turn it into a blog page for your students to be able to post their answers.
Deletehttp://englishandwe.weebly.com/projects/connection
DeleteWell done, Eugenia! Keep improving your blog and let me know if you have any questions.
DeleteBlogging is a powerful learning tool.
ReplyDeleteThe first reason is that we can improve our communicative skills. We have the opportunity to develop oral and written form of communication, through reading, speaking and writing. That`s great, it`s the best choise for each of us to be in touch with native speakers.
The second reason is that we develop our creative expressions through videos, photos, pictures, schemes, diagrams in such a way we can create something new, and for that reason we have a lot of possibilities using blogging.
The third reason is that we develop our thinking skills and reflection. It is very important to encourage students in this process. It is difficult, but in fact they will be able to prevent different situations in their lives.
The forth reason is that blog will represent a lifelong e – portfolio for each of us.
Blogging is a priority in our century, a century of communication and good relations between people and nations from all over the world.

ReplyDeleteBlogging can turn into a powerful teaching tool! It is an easy and effective way to teach and learn. Students have the opportunity to use computers, which is one of their favorite past times, they develop their digital skills. Informational technologies are a necessity nowadays, because everything becomes computerized, and we must be up to date. Another reason that blogging is a good teaching tool is the fact that working with blogs, student’s involuntary memory is active; reading requirements, searching information, analyzing some articles or reportages, they memorize some expressions and structures they could use formulating and producing new ideas. Finally, blogging is a useful teaching tool because all the materials are online which teachers and pupils can find it easy. It is accessible also because you can review what you need; it is not a book that you need to return to the library. I think blogging is the future of teaching.

DeleteNice Blog,,,,,,,,,,I realy love your ideas.
DeleteBlogging can turn into a powerful teaching tool.
ReplyDeleteComputer has become a powerful machine and it is never known its effect toward us. For this reason, people invent thousand of tools that can keep us safe but curious at the same time. One of this tool is "BLOG".I have recently discover how a blog "breathes" and I can affirm that it is something really good. First of all it is interesting- for me to create the blog, and for my students to be members of it. Another reason is that a Blog can combine all the materials you want, and you can get them with a simple click. It responses to modern educational requieres- to develop multiple intelligence to the students. Here, pupils can read, write, post their ideas, opinions, comments, create posters, videos, presentations etc. Blogging increases pupils' interest and motivates them to act, to be creative, to be original. As I have mentioned in my intent letter, blogging is a good tool for parents, especially who are abroad. They can keep in touch with teachers and classmates. They can follow and participate in the educational process.Blogging can turn into a good teaching tool becouse it is simple, attractive, efficient, widespread, useful...Blogging represents the whole words on a simple page)))
-May I ask you a question?
ReplyDelete-How can I add an image here?
"Here" where? On the EFL Blogging blog or on your personal blog?

DeleteBlogging is a learning tool for students but it can turn into a powerful teaching tool.
ReplyDeleteCreating blogs, firstly teachers get students to read information or the comments posted by other pupils that helps them to improve their vocabulary, reading and speaking skills.
Secondly, blogs get students to write regularly when they post information or comments, so it’s a teaching tool for improving student spelling, writing skills and interaction.
Thirdly, blogs provide opportunities for students to create paintings, photos, videos, movies, presentations using different programs, in order to post them, developing their digital skill.
In conclusion, blogging is really a powerful teaching tool that supports teachers in developing most students’ skills provided by the curriculum.
http://magicenglishmagicehglish.weebly.com/
ReplyDeleteMariana, your blog looks fantastic !!!
DeleteBlogs are a useful teaching tool for improving student's writing and increasing class activities.
DeleteThere are blogs that look more like a personal blog than a whole class activity, however, they are full of information that can be shared with others.
Blogs are used mainly for learnig and reflection,so they really can improove student's best skills: writing, reading, listening, speaking and why not hearing.
When you blog, you know that others will read what you have written, so you should do it the best you can, and you should help your students to do the same.
Blogging, we spread all the knowledge we accumulate, and post it in a single page.
In a conclusion I'd like to say that blogging is a real, interesting, captivating, and useful teaching tool, which all should use it for gaining the best results.

Blogging can return into a powerful teaching tool.
Blogging is very popular today because it allows people to interact with each other.
Reading and writing texts online are basic skills that students need to be literate citizens in the 21st century. Teaching with blogs provides the opportunity to engage students in both of these literacy activities, and the strategy has the additional benefit of enabling students to publish their writing easily and to share their writing with an authentic audience.
Additionally, visitors subscribe to a blog's feeds in order to stay up to date with content that's being posted on subjects that interest them. Students can post on such topics as journal/diary entries, reflections on their writing process, details on their research projects, commentary on recent events or readings, and drafts for other writing they are doing.
Blogging is learning, that means pupils can find pen friends from all around the world which improves their reading, writing and spelling.
http://mrsangelasstudents.weebly.com/
Angela,
DeleteYou learned how to embed all those elements into your blog. Now you need to organize them, as they are a little bit crowded on one page :) Assignment 3 will help you create separate teaching blocks.
I have one question, it seems to me I've watched all videous from youtube about how to make subpages, it's not difficult but I dont see any pressbuttons on the left side of my page as in the video.
DeleteThank you.

ReplyDeleteAliona, your blog looks great! You managed to embed a lot of useful resources, which is wonderful!
DeleteI meet difficulties with embedding a SCRIBD document. I could embed only once....I want to drag other useful pages but I cannot...(
ReplyDeleteNot all SCRIBD documents are free, some documents can be accessed only partially. Just choose those books which are free.
Deletehttp://follownadia.weebly.com/
ReplyDeletehttp://follownadia.weebly.com/my-resources-collection.html
ReplyDeleteNadia, wonderful beginning - you just need to create more pages as part of your blog.
DeleteA lot of people say that blogging is a powerful teaching tool and now I began to think the same.
ReplyDeleteThe first reason is because in a blog students can find many interesting materials, stories, videos, posters, presentations or works of their colleagues. They can get inspired by them and be eager to post something themselves.
Second, blogging teaches to write. As you know writing improves our analytical thinking. Students read other blogs, or look for information and do research when they try to put down some thoughts; this is because they are aware that blogs have an audience, so they need to write clearly and rather impressive.
And finally but not less important, students can make a network of colleagues, blogging around the world, share ideas with them, and support each other during the difficult process of working. So they can meet a lot of interesting people and even make friends.
With this in mind I think blogging helps us get new skills and knowledge, improve my professional activity as a teacher and provide attractive tools of learning to me and my students.
Hello. I am very sorry, but I have met some problems with my blog :((( It doesn't open. I find some of my blog's information on this page http://www.weebly.com/weebly/main.php , but I don't know how to manage everything. What was wrong? I don't know how to organize everything in only one blog. May you help me? Thank you.
ReplyDeleteMaria, it means you did something wrong, which is ok. Just watch the video tutorial carefully and follow each step exactly and your blog will be published.
Deletethank you. I have found my mistake
Deletethank you. I have found my mistake
DeleteBlogging can turn into a wonderful teaching tool.
ReplyDeleteFirst of all ,a blog provides to the students the possibilty to acces a lot of material and also to post their own.
Additionaly ,blogging helps to improve spelling .Every time you will write something you will see your mistakes because if you are not confident, you will look up in a dictionary. Also ,blogging helps students to interact and improve their vocabulary. If they will disscus with persons from other countries they will learn also in addition an another language, this will help them to improve their skills and become intteligent person, this will help them in the future career .So ,we prepare them for life.
And the most important fact is that ,blogging will help shy students to materialize their dreams , socialize and make friends.
Thus ,I think that blogging is the most needful teaching tool for 21-st century.

DeleteTask:1
ReplyDeleteBlogging is a powerful teaching tool of the 21st centuries.
Blogging is an interesting way of learning new, interesting and useful things for both students and teachers. There are many reasons to support this idea.
Blogging is a great teaching resource for attract students' attention and keeping them engaged in learning.
Blogging is a tool for practicing reading, speaking, writing skills. For example: reading and writing comments help students to make changes and improve their blog content, design, etc.
Using Blogging students can meet interesting people from different corners of the world.
Finally, I hope that my blog will be a powerful toolkit to support my students to learn English.

Hello, dear Daniela.
ReplyDeleteTask 1
Blogging can turn into a really powerful teaching tool! It is very exciting and, of course, interesting for using it. It motivates students in learning and it has a lot of ways of developping communicative skill -- enriching their vocabulary (hangout, skype, etc.). Also it is for developping reading and writing skills. Not less important is that blogs make students integrate in society, make new friends from different foreign countries, enhance their knowledge at various subjects.
At the same moment it is a great teaching tool, where pupils can learn and write their homework. It also develop pupils traits because through blogs teacher helps them realize themselves like organized, punctual and responsable personalities.
In conclusion, it is an up to date tool for the 21st century.
Task 2

also I have done a photo galery, but I don't know how to show it to you. It is in the "черновики" of my School blog and I have no idea how to take them off. I worked a lot on it, but I can not see what I did :(
Just publish the post from your "черновики" and it will be visible. At this moment it is just a draft, I suppose. More details here:

Blogging is really a powerful teaching tool!
DeleteFirstly, blogging helps us make our lessons more interactive due to the great variety of materials used:videos,pictures...
DeleteSecondly,it offers diverse assignments which surely motivate students to learn English with pleasure and in such a way they ,also, develop their digital competence.
Thirdly, blogging motivates us,teachers, to look for new ,exciting, creative tasks for pupils ,thus we are in a constant growth like specialists and we develop our professional competence.
Another reason is ,this tool could be renewed, reviewed and adjusted to different levels of students'potential.
To conclude with, blogging is a modern teaching tool which changes not only students vision/attitude towards the process of learning ,but ours, too!

DeleteVera, that video does not exist.
DeleteHave you managed to create your blog?
Vera, your blog is full of great teaching materials, so your students will enjoy it a lot! You need to improve a few minor details - your blog titles are too long, as you included tasks and links, which looks overcrowded. Just include a short task name as title - the assignments and the links should be included the body of the post.
DeleteBlogging is a new process on teaching my classes first of all for me,since it teaches me how to work and apply it.It is not easy for me I should say.But we are studing all our life.I think blogging can support our ideas and thoughts when we are not in our classerooms, when we have lack of time to impliment a task,a discussion, a game.I guess it could be easier for some students to enleash them on saying their opinions in writing as they are not so talkative and to pay more attention to their written massage, the order of words and thoughts in their sentences, how comprehenssive it is for the others as they have an audience now and not only the teacher. They can participate and share their pictures, videos and topics for discussion and to take the needed time for them not to rush with the answer as we usually do during our classes.
ReplyDeleteThey can make friends, meet a lot of people and to know more about their abilities and talents.
I think blogging helps us get new skills and knowledge, improve my professional activity as a teacher and to provide attractive tools of learning to me and my students, to make them more inquisitive and to draw their attention to relevent topics and not to waste their time on trifling things.
Eudochia - judging by your reply, you already have a multitude of ideas related to introducing blogs as an effective teaching tool. We hope that the rest of assignments will hep you create a class blog that would bring additional value to your teaching and will motivate your students to use the Internet not just for fun, but for learning English in an innovative, challenging way.

ReplyDeleteRoibu Svetlana: Blogging can be a powerful teaching tool
ReplyDeleteBlogging is a modern, multifunctional teaching tool.
First of all, it is a modern tool of searching and collecting information - quickly and of high quality. If we connect this teaching tool with the school curriculum for teaching 4 basic skills, we’ll have a lot of opportunities to teach reading, writing, listening and speaking in a modern manner.
For second reason could be next – online homework doing could be easier than doing homework in the copybook, because it could be immediately checked and corrected. Such the spelling and writing skills could be improved.
Thirdly, I think online Blog’s Set of Tools creates opportunities to enlarge students’ creativity using Photo, Video, and Movie accessories for creating Learning Presentations.
To conclude, I can say surely that Blogging can be a very powerful tool that help in teaching, and could be a very useful instrument for learning.
Svetlana, you pointed out a few very important advantages related to the use of blogs in EFL classrooms. We hope that the rest of assignments will hep you create a class blog that would bring additional value to your teaching and will motivate your students to use the Internet not just for fun, but for learning English in an innovative, challenging way.

DeleteI consider blogging an incredible and modern way of teaching. It is the future of the teaching and learning process. Students will have the possibility to improve their knowledge , in case they are absent at school, they will have the possibility to follow the lesson and those who didn't quite understand they will also review the material. They will be able to input their homework which could be seen and shared to his classmates,I think this is motivating and competitive. For teachers is a great way to prepare a great amount of interactive activities ready to use at any time only if it were the internet available.Maybe now it is too much time consuming , I still hope we'll get used to it.

ReplyDeleteBlogging is Learning
How can blogging turn into a powerfull teaching tool.
Blogging is a new technique to enrich our lessons with different interesting materials.
There are many reasons I use blogging in my classes. One reason is that it makes students more interested in my lessons and the lessons more entertaining.
Another reason why I consider blogging is useful , because it makes students interested in searching information, finding out something new and also to learn their topics.
Finally, I think that blogging divert students` attention from other useless sites and make them communicate; analyze something with other students through comments and messages.
For me blogging is a good tool for teaching. These are only few reasons why we should use blogging in education.
Task 1
ReplyDeleteBlogging becomes more and more explored as a teaching tool. It offers big opportunities for teachers as well as for students. It allows the absent students to achieve the same performance as for present at the lesson students. It gives an evidence of work for whoever wants to check: parents, school principle, school inspectors etc. It encourages students to work and defend their personal idea, it promovates critical thinking and permanent learning.
Task 2

Luminita Tiuliuliuc Task 1
ReplyDeleteBlogging is a limitless way of learning and teaching. Teacers as well as students have the chance to explore their personal and professional potential. Blogs shoul definitely involve teachers who have students with special needs (Inclusion) because in such a way they (the mentioned avove students) will be more confident to create and participate in on-line activities without experiencing shyness, fear, etc.
