Dear EFL Blogging School teachers,
To have a better idea of how to prepare the local/regional training,
please follow the recommendations below.
To have a better idea of how to prepare the local/regional training,
please follow the recommendations below.
2. Look through the topics and extract the three you personally liked the most;
3. Decide upon the reasons you are attracted by these topics (make notes of each reason);
4. Think and ponder over how well you have already integrated them into your teaching process;
5. Look through the topics you covered with your students, examine how well they were involved in the activities and home tasks they received;
6. Analyze the entire process of your students’ work and decide what you can share with your colleagues from other schools;
7. Be sure you are fully aware of how you implement new tools into traditional way of teaching so that you could share it with the others;
8. Collect as many positive examples of integrating new techniques as possible; collect the examples you would like to show;
9. Take several challenges and negative experiences or obstacle the teachers might come across and include them into your teaching seminar;
10. After you examine the topics you selected, try to deepen and take one you consider the most relevant for your colleagues to present;
11. Start getting ready by taking all the material you covered, revise and recollect all the sources, examples, notions, information, opinions, students involvement of in terms of your work;
12. While you prepare the information, keep in mind that many of participants at your seminar are traditional-thinking teachers with a vast personal experience. For some of them new on-line tools might seem quite unusual or even difficult;
13. Try to be consistent and sure that all the notions and information you present is clearly structured and easy to comprehend and utilize for those who hear about it for the first time in their life;
14. Get ready for eventual questions , both connected with the topic you cover and/ or any other far beyond the context;
15. At the moment you decided upon the topic, revised the materials, collected the needed information for your seminar, make a draft or a preliminary plan of your presentation;
16. Look what type of presentation you would like to make: power point or prezi. Be ready to remake it several times;
17. Do not leave that for the last three days, as the information will need to be cleary accumulated and the level of preparation needs more time to be dedicated;
18. While preparing the presentation, try to order your slides in such a way so that your listeners would have a clear idea of what is the main aim of your presentation;
19. Keep in mind that elaborating the activities is time-consuming and sometimes a tiresome work, and needs revision and even changes;
20. Be attentive to the time you need while getting ready for the presentation. Time management is another important issue on implementing new tools and performing how it works;
21. To incorporate all the material you want to present into one session, you need to practice at least once , to see how well you integrate yourself into the time offered;
22. Take into consideration the time that you will need for demonstrating video on-line tools , making it interactive, involve participants in the activities and make a debriefing as well;
23. Provide the participants with hand-outs, connected with your presentation so that they could also use it and start to implement into their teaching;
24. Be sure all the equipment works well and have your presentation printed out just in case something goes wrong in terms of circumstances, electricity or other unexpected occasions;
2 Include in your presentation the best results you have while implementing your new studies about on-line tools and give examples of its advantage.
You can see the local/regional topics and the procedure organised by the first 'EFL Blogging School" project participants as an example provided to facilitate the task:

Hello everyone......I have done this!!!!!!!!!!:-)I have already organized the regional training....successfully............It was very interesting. Only today I have realized how much work we have done during these months.Of course there are some sad moments- our district is small.I have planned the training for 16 teachers, but there come only 13.Also I invited my mentor to the training but unfortunately Christine could not join us.Another sad moment is that I wanted to show the participant all the useful materials I had taken for myself, but for them it was too much...We have stopped only on 3 online tools -Voki, Glogster and Google Forms. We have implement these online tools together with my colleagues... The rest of material was as theoretical information and samples taken from my blog. Anyway, it was a good experience for me and hope with a good result for the participants....

DeleteDear Aliona!!!! What a wonderful event!!!!! How intersting it was to read your presentation! It is so informative and consistent and extremely comprenesible!!! I am shure your participants were greatful to you to have this possibillity to get acquainted with those on-line tools you presented them. Even if there were not so many people as yu mentioned, they seem to have enjoyed the process and see that Voicethred or Glogster might be useful in their classes. Thank you for sharing that experience,indeed. Congratulations!!!

Hello! Today, February 12th, I successfully organized and conducted the Regional Training in Edinet, "Mihai Eminescu" Lyceum. There were 27 teachers and 5 students (active blog users)participating at the great event. Although my mentor couldn't make it we found another opportunity - Mrs.Lisa Gill sent me a Vocaroo message which was played to the participants. The training was held according to the suggested recommendations. The PPP (Power Point Presentation) was focused on the material we studied during this whole period. Moreover I tried to advertize my blog in order to "infect" people-teachers with the wish to want to create a blog and work on it. Thanks a lot to Emma, who came and supported me. I am glad I could impress my colleagues so that they could become more intested in on-line tools.
Dear Luminitsa!!!!! CONGRATLATIONS!!!!! Thank you for inviting me to this important event. That was really fantastic. The presentation was organized in a very professinoal and specific way. The aims and the steps you followed were very constructive and self-sufficient. The modality of presenting the Blog,its function and specific slide to the e-portfolio issue was very compihensive. As an observe I can conclude, that many teachers had got the idea on how to implement the on-line tools in the English classes and that this techniques can help in their day-to-day activities, where they can encourage their students as well. I hope you will share with us the pictures and your presentation as soon as possible. What is the most bright, is the virtual "presence" of your Mentor and participation of your students. So, we wait with anticipation for the feedback of children,teachers and colleagues.
ReplyDeleteGreat event and useful informational presentation it was for all the participants. It was obvious that many teachers got inspired to use on-line tools and blogs as platform for their future teaching.
Hallow, everyone This week on Monday I have organized the local training, it was great. I have taught my colleagues how to create a blog with Weebly and how to post pictures and videos on the blog. It was a good experience for me and hope with a good result for the participants. At the end of the training I was exhausted but it was a pleasant fatigue and they are waiting with pleasure the other trainings of my colleagues Tatiana and Svetlana. Thank you for learning us such interesting and useful things.

Dear Luminita !!! Thank you for sharing these fantastic moments with us. Eventhough i had been honored to be invited to this event,I consider the pictures and your presentation to be so very useful for the rest of the people, teachers and EFL Blogging School Participants to be shared. The topixc that you rose was very important and the doze of motivation the participants got--had its proper amount. We saw how well the on-line tools could be integrated into the process of teaching and that it is very important for both teachers and students to implement. So, let's prove by this your aim of naming teachers' to be the 21-st century ones.
DeleteHello!Participants have enjoyed today's training and we agreed to discuss on other studied topics too. Photos will be posted on a special page on my blog entitled "Training".

DeleteGood Job!!!
DeleteHi Emma. I have had the seminar with 25 teachers from Criuleni region today, February 17th. The seminar with the participation of regional English teachers included a presentation of on-line tools both teachers and students might use to facilitate the teaching/learning process. We discussed the benefits of the blog for both teachers and students, analyzed some tools, such as e-portfolio, flipped class, PBL, Voicethread and some students' posts. Teachers stated that although blogging seems to be time consuming, it has many benefits. I am sure more teachers from the district will create their blogs. The participants will leave their comments on the blog page. See the link below with the presentation and pictures. Thank you for encouraging and supporting us.
ReplyDeletehttp://englishandwe.weebly.com/projects/blogging-seminar-with-regional-teachers
At the seminar I provided the participants with the printed presentation and also told them the presentation will be uploaded on the blog in Project section and they can find it there, anytime.
ReplyDeleteEugenia!!! Greta training, interesting and extremely infrmative presentation!!! If yuo managed to tell them all the things you planned and to cover all the topics you prepared in your presentation--that would definetely mean, that it had a great resonance and impact, making people want to implement these on-line tools and start working on their own Blogs. We hope to have a feed-back as well. Good Luck at your final Conference !!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Emma. I am sure the teachers started thining about the benefits of a blog and creating it.

Veronica, congratulations with this important event! You seem to be very involved together with your participants. Your presentation looks very substantial and well-elaborated. It would be nice if your colleagues and other teachers could use this information in their classes, taking into account that you managed to do it in Romanian and give the possibility to more people to integrate on-line tools into their activities. Good Luck for the future!

DeleteRoibu Svetlana - Local Teachers Training
ReplyDeleteHello, Emma! Yesterday I have just done my local training with teachers. It was about Blog as a tool to assess students. It was said about the role of assessment in teaching and the role of the formative evaluation. How to do the rubrics and how to create the paper of assessment of some activities in English class. For this purpose is very useful the Rubrics creator. There were presented the online Creators of Rubrics such as Rubistar, iRubric, Kathy Schrock’s Guide to Rubrics, Annenberg Learner. I demonstrated how they work and explained how to use them by not English teachers. There is the link of the photos of the seminar posted on my blog: http://englishteachersblogforpupils.weebly.com/teachers-portfolio.html (Teacher’s Portfolio - 22.02.2016 Local Teachers Training: Comment on, Slide-Show, pdf)
Svetlana, great achievement! You elaborated a very diversed topic for your participants. They might have found out a lot of new things and new on-line tools to implement into their classes. Good luck for the future!!!

ReplyDeleteHello everyone! Today, February 24th, I’ve successfully organized and the Local Training in Calarashi, Theoretical Lyceum "Vasile Alecsandri". There were 25 teachers of different subjects to participate at this great event. The PPP (Power Point Presentation) was focused on the material we studied during this whole period. I showed them my blogs (I have two, as I teach two subjects – Romanian and English). We also talked about what a bog is, what are its advantages and disadvantages, how can it be implemented in the educational process as a modern teaching and learning tool. Then I have taught my colleagues how to create a blog with Weebly and how to post text, pictures and videos on the blog, how to add a link or to embed various materials created with different tools. I think it was a good experience for both me and for the participants.

DeleteHello, Emma. The big event happened here, in Orhei District! Great emotions, a lot of work and good results. Here is the link from my seminar: http://galinamadam.weebly.com/training
ReplyDeleteIt lasted about 5 hours, because we organized a public lesson also. During the lesson we presented the final product of a project work. Teachers were very interested in what we do and started to work on their blogs immediately. They asked for more information and suport and with my school inspector we decided to "steal" the steps we did during this 5 months and help them manage their blog (of course if you agree the idea).
Dear Galina, CONGRATULATIONS!!! It is a good news that you saw a real and open interest that your presentation awoke. it is seen from the pictures,that you managed to organize a lot more than one can even imagine--you taught them many dufferent things so far. And you had a plenty of time to go into the details for performing how these on-line tools work and can be implemented. A great thing and wish you have a further development on these methods!!!
DeleteToday, I organized the regional training with regional teachers of history. I explained them the tools and benefits of a blog .
ReplyDeleteAll teachers were interested and asked me to do another training to help them to create their own blog.

Veronica, good job! Congratulations! It is great you attracted the teachers of a different rather English subjects disciplines. However, did yo have a topic of your presentation and we could have a clear idea on what they learnt? It would be nice to have it just written here, so that it could be much more interesting.
