    1. CONGRATULATIONS!!!! Luminita, that is a fantastic class!!! The theme you chose is indeed a very thought-provoking one and all the participants on both side of the screen seemed to be interested enough. How well the students felt themselves! They seem to be calm and prepared for such an event, as if it happened to them before. And your Mentor is a great presenter with a nice and pleasant voice. Hope that you had a great debriefing with your students.Wish you even more nice emotions !!!!

  4. Hello Emma. I together with my 9th grade have had our online session with Christine, my mentor. There were some problems with scype volume and Christine could not hear us but we continued our conversation on the phone. I;ve told my students about this meeting, but they seemed quite afraid of speaking with a native American. But, the conversation itself was a great moment for them. I can tell only that I am proud of them. We have arranged a live meeting with Christine next week. I think it will be a "bomba" for all of us))))

Enjoy the last weeks of the life in Blogging School!!!

  5. Aliona!!! That is a challenge indeed !!!! Good that you found the possibility to continue the class. The fact that kids were worried--is an absolutely obvious one. But this only prove that every situaiton can be solved. Did they still talk? And the real meeting will probably be even more interesting !!!! Keep us informed and enjoy the process!!!How well that your students write the replies!!!

  6. Hello everyone! This morning I and my 5th form students had a Skype call with my mentor, Dean Vallejo. He talked about holidays in the US. First he spent a lot of time talking about Thanksgiving, since it is not celebrated in Moldova. He also told them about Gasparilla Pirate Festival is an annual celebration held in the city of Tampa, Florida, his motherland. Here is the link Dean has distributed after our skype session: https://www.facebook.com/deanmvallejo/posts/10207734881706524?comment_id=10207736562708548&reply_comment_id=10207736617509918

    3. Dear Mariana !!! What a wonderful event indeed !!! How happy your kids must have been. I assume your Mentor and you, as the teahcer were both happy to have such dialogue with little kids on a topic about Holidays. They probably were excited to listen about the Gorillas Pirate Fwestival in Florida. It is interesitng to know, how did they cope with a foreign accent of your Mentor? And what about their emotions? it looks as a fairy tale for them. Thank you for sharing such a marvelous experience with us!!! You proved that everything is possible and the on-line tools can be implemented even with such small kids!!!!

And thanks to your Mentor to be so open and eager to dedicate emotions and attentions to intercultural and specific details. We hope to have more feed-back from your students. Good luck!!!

  9. Hello Emma. We did it yesterday. We had the skype meeting with April salerno and 11th grade students. Although we had planned a week before to have the meeting with the 12th grade, we had to be flexible and have it with the 11th grade as the 12th had a test "pe esantion" on Physics that day. Poor students, they were blaming the person who chose them for the Physics test as this impeded them to have the skype meeting. but, the 11th grade were very happy to meet April, listen to a native speaker and ask her many questions. We spoke about classes in the USA, the personal schedule in the USA, the tests students have there, the credits they have to get in order to enter a university, the way you can study on free in the USA, the way students can have a job while studying at school and college, etc... We had a problem during the meeting because we "ran out" of internet, but, thnaks to our students we immediately shared the internet from our mobiles. Thus, we solved it successfully. After the meeting we had the debriefing and we agreed to use other English speaking people - even students's on line friends- for 10 minutes during classes for such a live session. Overall, it was a good experience for students as they understood that they can apply their speaking skills sitting comfortably in their classroom in Magdacesti. Much thanks to April and to you for teaching us to do it. I askrd students to write as comments 3 things they found out during this session. See the comments and pictures below. Thank you!

  13. Hello my dear colleagues. As I said and Christine promised she managed to come to our school today. We have had a wonderful day.We discussed about our school blog, its sections and its importance in EFL classes. Even if she doesn't lead any blogs she has found very interesting the web tools implemented in our blog. The purpose of our meeting was to get a feedback from her and from my students from the 9th grade about the blog. The final task for students was to create their own blog and present it with the help of Movenote application. I adviced them to use Movenote because I found it easier and more comprehensible for them. It will be the Task 3 for assessment 13 (e-porfolio) and receive feedback from my mentor- the assessment from week 5.
After this Christine was my guest in the Vth grade class. As one Chinese proverb says: If you haven't found out anything new during a day, it means that you waist the day in vain." It is not related to our today day. It was a wonderful meeting with a lot of emotions and good moments.I will post some pictures on my blog.

I am very sorry that we forgot about them.We were worried.

    3. Aurelia!!! Of course that would be nice to have your pictures, but you have a treasure of emotions and knowledge. Instead of pictures or video, you can ask your students for a feedback to write as comments on your blog page and express their impressions and attitudes and discoveries and experience and emotions. Please share with us the link to the page from your blog with the discription of the event and their commentaries, so that we could also be happy with you. We anticipate these news!!!

  16. The session went quietly, no technical problems. At the beginning, the students were very shy, but later they integrated. Firstly, when I announced they are going to have an online conference with my mentor, they were very enthusiastic they will speak to a native American and they were impatient. They liked that a native speaker appreciates them and got more motivated to improve their English.

  18. Svetlana Roibu Week 3: Hello, Emma. Today was released the online session with American guest speaker April Salerno. April guided the discussion about how to live a life with dignity. Students were little exhausted (it was the last lesson), but they were interested to discuss directly with a native speaker. Although we had some technical problems, we succeed to realize what we had to do. The students liked the manner to speak of April and got motivated to learn English more.

  22. Dear Emma, there are my comment and the links of the slide-show and my students' feedback
    Roibu Svetlana – Week 4
I and my guest, a native speaker of English from the USA, April Salerno really enjoyed the online (on Skype) session. The discussion was between April and my students of the 12th form. Generally, this topic is difficult, but due April’s support, it was realized. First of all we have established what is “dignity”, then how to live a life with dignity. Students had their opinions on what are the most important – physical needs or emotional needs. They offered examples to explain their thoughts. At the end they gave the answer to question How to live a life with dignity? The answer was - it must be balanced and harmonized to feel accomplished and safety.
The materials (Slide-show and students’ feedback) you can find on my blog page: http://englishteachersblogforpupils.weebly.com/students-portfolio.html

  23. Hi Emma ! I have had my session on Skype with my mentor Matt Salerno and my
11th grade students. The session began on time and everything went well on technical point of view. The sound and the hearing was good. My students had a nice talk with Matt. They reacted correctly to the massage and asked the right questions, they didn’t repeat the ideas or questions about the topic. Some of them seemed to be more brave during the classes but now they were a little reserved(this is experience). The topic was about” American Teacher Job”.The students learned what are the requirements of an American teacher, who can become a teacher in America, are there any special university to graduate as to become a teacher etc.I like the session, it was really enjoyable and a new experience for us too.We both respected the time of our session, my students spoke about Dimitrie Cantemir as Matt wanted to learn a little from our history. The thing to improve is to through away students fear and to get more courage to speak even they can make mistakes. When we put off our session one of them said that is good to have such a session at least once a month. This was enough for me to know what they think about.

Through the pictures and your students' comments it is vividly seen that tha topic you chose had an echo from the participants. They noticed so many things, like do not cpy system, grade on-line for both students and parents. It is a great feed-back indeed. However, it would be nice to have both pictures and their comments to arrange together on one page so that it could be easier for everybody to access it. And the Teahcer's comments are also imortant for them--thus they will feel more important, and the Blog itself is alife. By the way, the link you posted here does not work, maybe you try to post it starting with the letter http... In the loong run, from your description, the participants were happy. So enjoy the next steps.

  25. Finally we managed to do our online session with Aaron. Firstly we arranged it for Tuesday, but there were some problems with the connection and on Friday we did it. This time we also had some problems with the connection but we managed to talk on the topic. As I said, we had under discussion the topic Holidays. Students had a lot of questions on this topic, they were excited and very pleased with this session. Aaron also had questions for them some of them were a little shy and they learned new things about holidays in America. After this session we discussed about it, they said that would like to have other discussions with English native speakers. It was great thanks you for such interesting experience.
