ASSIGNMENT 4: Introduce your blog to your students (November 2nd - November 8)

Task 1: Create a special page for your student profiles

Dear EFL bloggers - it is time to introduce your blog to your students. Please create a separate page on your blog which will be dedicated to publishing student pictures, quotes, best online projects, feedback, etc. This page could be entitled "My students", "Student profiles" or "Blog readers" for example. Please publish your students names (or nicknames) and pictures (or avatars), just like we posted your profiles on the EFL Project blog. You could also upload group pictures with your students. You can ask each student to share with you a short description of themselves, plus 2-3 links, if available (in case your students had already created their own blogs or websites ). Post the link to your students page in the "Comments" section below. Examples:
Task 2: Ask your students to "pin" themselves on our project Zee Map

We would like to see how many students will work with you on your class blog.
  • Please embed the code below in the page created in Task 1, so that your students page has this interactive map embedded (like in this EXAMPLE);
<iframe frameborder=0 style='width:100%;height:500px' src='//www.zeemaps.com/pub?group=1691436&legend=1&topbar=1&geosearch=1&locate=1&list=1&add=1&x=28.858177&y=46.999928&z=11'> </iframe>
  • Ask your students to "pin" their location by clicking on the big round + sign in the upper right corner of the map;
  • They should add their picture and a short description, like in the example below.

  2. Very beautiful, Xenia! Now we are waiting for your students to pin their location, just like you did, and the assignment will be completed!

    1. Very beautiful, Angelica! You could also ask your students to write something about themselves - if they like going to school, if they are a good team as a class, etc.

  5. hello everyone ))) hi, Daniela!
    I posted the map but unfortunately I don't have students yet (( Anyway, hope, it's gonna be settled down soon. BTW below the map i have a table where i'm planning to add my students' info but i can't insert any pictures in it. I preffer well-structured ways of presenting info so I'd like to leave it the way it is now and post their photos below as soon as it's possible. And maybe i'll somehow attach their voki's with self-introductions. Does it sound good?

    1. Diana,

      Diana,

      Your student page looks great!

      Your students don't need to create a blog. If they have already created blogs in the past, then you can add the link. If they don't have personal blogs, you don't need to add anything, just their names, pictures and a short description.

      Good job so far!

  14. Mariana, what a great job! I liked the fact that you posted instructions for your students and also created a special blog post about IT competences they need to develop as part of school curriculum. We can't wait to see your student work posted online. Good luck!

      I am late with my Assignment #4, because it is little difficult for me and students for reason that it is absulutely new experience. The Videos are on the stage to be finished. The place to place them is on the Blog's page names Students' Portfolio: http://englishteachersblogforpupils.weebly.com/students-portfolio.html

    1. Take all the time you need, Svetlana. It is true that at the beginning using blogs might be really time consuming, but in the end it is worth it!

      As for ZeeMap - your students need to pin themselves - just ask them to click on the "+" button in the upper right corner of the map and add their info.

  26. The title of a special page for my students is entitled "Blog Readers"

    ReplyDelete
  27. Aurelia, your page is a little overwhelmed and hard to read - please organize your videos and links in separate blog posts with separate titles. Every time you have something new to publish online, click on ”New post” and give it a title. Good luck!
