  1. Task 1: What is an E-Portfolio?
An E-Portfolio is a collection of electronic evidence assembled and managed by a user, usually on the Web. Such electronic evidence may include inputted text, electronic files, images, multimedia, blog entries, and hyperlinks. E-portfolios are both demonstrations of the user's abilities and platforms for self-expression, and, if they are online, they can be maintained dynamically over time.
Why using an E-portfolio for personal and teaching reasons? The uses of e-portfolios are most common in the courses with departments of education.
The electronic portfolio is a collection of a teacher’s work that provides a way to organize, archive, and display work. They provide the opportunity to review, communicate and give feedback in an asynchronous manner. A teaching e-portfolio is used to showcase career accomplishments. There are teachers who use e-portfolios to record course or discipline designs that may be shared with colleagues to promote teaching and learning.
What are the benefits of an E-Portfolio?
In general e-portfolios promote critical thinking and support the development of technology literacy skills.
E-portfolios help to foster an independent and autonomous way of thinking. This is in large part because people must focus on their collective work, think about how it will be portrayed, and what the work says about them as an individual.
The electronic portfolio, is a more formal setting where students must apply both their knowledge of how the web works and the message they want to convey.
E-portfolios, like traditional portfolios, can facilitate students' reflection on their own learning, leading to more awareness of learning strategies and needs.
The main purpose is to provide an avenue for communication between student and instructor. An assessment portfolio will demonstrate skill and competence in a particular domain or area.

E-portofolio is a web tool that’s share teacher’s voice and promotes your future goals. It is our motivation to be a better teacher used to introduce us, as teachers or students. It also showcases our accomplishments and shares our teaching philosophy. E-portofolio can contain not only texts but graphic, audio and video materials, podcastings, projects, reflections, self evaluations. It is a sort of information stored in digital form. The translation of an E-portofolio can be – keep up with time, with the digital age. E-portofolio means digital learninf, a new tool for a new world, a personal space for learning and evidence.

How do the e-portfolios help students become more independent learners? - They help students to become more engaged as students. What is an e-portfolio?
An e-portfolio is a collection of materials that documents student accomplishments, and may include reflections on the learning process and its outcomes.
Why using an E-portfolio for personal and teaching reasons?
Electronic Portfolios are a creative means of organizing, summarizing, and sharing documents, information, and ideas about teaching and/or learning, along with personal and professional growth. The reflective process of portfolio development can be as important as the final product. In many cases, they are used as part student evaluation such as standardized tests. A portfolio is a sampling of the breadth and depth of a person's work conveying the range of abilities, attitudes, experiences, and achievements.
What are the benefits of an E-Portfolio?
It provides opportunities to learn more technologies skills; it offers the opportunity to plan, collect, assess, connect, reflect and finally publish your work.

    Laura's E-Portfolio-it is a student`s e-portfolio
    Danielle's E-Portfolio- it is a teacher`s e-portfolio
They all contain a lot of information about the owners. These portfolios contain very interesting sections that give information about the person , named home or my professional experience, different photos and even personal information, about their family or what they like to do or even read.
They help the students to become more independent, more interested in what they do and of course the students like to share with others what they create.

Lilia, it's definitely true that e-portfolios as "creative means of organizing, summarizing, and sharing documents, information, and ideas about teaching and/or learning", contribute to students' personal and professional growth through self-reflection. To improve the assignment from your blog and make it more clear to your students, I would recommend you to specify what their portfolio should include: for e.g., write about how many sections it should have, what information and how much should be included, etc. Here is a model to guide along: http://dvmuncaasem.blogspot.md/2012/05/final-e-portfolio.html

  7. Task 1
E- Portfolios are personal websites that communicate and showcase skills, experiences and learning which contain diverse artifacts and reflection.
Personal reasons: you can tie together your experience, create work for a real audience, showcase your skills and prepare for a job interview. Teaching reasons: to develop a sense of a real world audience in student's writing. When writing an essay, for example, students can easily rearrange their paragraphs and sentences when their writing is in an electronic medium. Once students put their work on the World Wide Web, it can be accessed by anyone in the school, in their life or in the world. This gives students the opportunity to have their writing read and responded to by people who they might not know.
Benefits: E-Portfolio is a living/evolving product, makes everyone’s work public and provides a large and diverse audience, you can use multiple literacies: the assessment is broadened as it provides more dimensions it is also a good management in case of lack of paper and grades at home, and it provides opportunities to learn more technology skills.
Task 2. Lauren's E-Portfolio and Donald E-Portfolio; - are both individual and professional portfolios-and have the purpose of present the person both as an individual and a specialist.
The sections the e-portfolios comprise: - Home, Biography, Programming specialist, Teacher, Artifacts, Student Samples, Research, Reflection with much information and links in most of them.
The e-portfolios help students become more independent learners - students perform better when they are given the responsibility for their own learning and many of the students work longer and harder on their assignments than they would do if they stay in a classroom.

  9. Task 1: We live in 21 century, the technology is envolving really fast and we have to correspond to the time. Nowadays the teachers use the paper to create a portfolio and this way takes a lot of time. To grow professionally we must go in step with new technologies. E-portfolio is a tool for a new world that we can share with our students or our colleagues. An e- portfolio is an electronic format that contain a lot of documents , presentations, digital/ audio clips, digital images, videos, books and other teaching materials.
An e-portfolio can reflect the students learning process and progress,show/prove our and students cometence for assessment withreal practice , students can use their e-portfolio throughout their learning journey ad use it to record, assess, evaluate and reflect at any time.
E-portfolio has a lot of benefits like: audience, autonomy, connections to collaborate, continuous improvement creativity, multiple literacies, management, makes everyone's work public, provides opportunities to learn more technology skills.
Teachers must ensure the underlying pedagogy of establishing students as life-long learners with the skills to self-monitor and evaluate drives how e-portfolios are used. The technology or device used does not replace the learning. The technology is a vehicle to accomplish effective learning outcomes.

An E-Portfolio is a personal space for learning in digital era, a purposeful collection of information and digital artifacts that demonstrates development or evidences, learning outcomes, skills or competencies. The process of producing an E-Portfolio usually requires the synthesis of ideas, reflection on achievements.
E-Portfolios can show all the evidence of our hard work, promote our goals, they can introduce us as a teacher or show our teaching philosophy and show our accomplishments. It can include texts, graphics, audio and video. Using ePortfoio we can have new opportunities, active learning anytime and anywhere, autonomy, connections to collaborate, continuous improvement and creativity.

What sections do the e-portfolios comprise?
They comprise sections like: My professional experience, My interests, My professional plans, My personal life.
How do the e-portfolios help students become more independent learners?
E-portfolios encourages the using of Internet as a learning tool and allow students to find readings that are of interest to them.
Once students publish their work on internet, it can be accessed by anyone in the school, in their life or in the world. This gives students the opportunity to have their writing read and responded to by people who they might not know. Writing is a communicative practice, and e-portfolios are an excellent tool to use to show students how to enter the conversation.

  13. Task 1
    1. An E-portfolio is a personal space for learning in digital era. First of all what is an E-portfolio serves as proof of one's skills, abilities and potential in the future. People use career portfolios to apply to jobs, college or training programs or get a higher salary, show transferable skills and to track personal development. In the 21st century web technology has filtered its way into portfolios especially in the digital work. They are more in depth. It is a purposeful dynamic collection of digital objects gathered overtime the same presenting experiences and achievements using online tools. It is a personal website that communicates and showcases skills, containing diverse artifacts.
    2. A teacher or students should use E-Portfolio as it is something new and modern. It is a good challenge not just for you students but even for us, teachers. It's a visual record of ongoing learning that fosters an autonomous way of thinking through reflection. It's like an open book where we point out what we have learned and gained and we can share our work samples, not to pile them useless in our bookcase .We can store our information on papers but it is time consuming when we try to find something we get angry and have to search a lot then we start creating something else. Now think what difference will be if we have everything stored in digital form on our personal website or blog and it‘s alive and we can add any information at any time to change or to sort out something in order to make it better or even you can do somebody a favor by sharing your personal reflections or work. More than that you can ask somebody to help you at some points I mean when you want to collaborate with somebody I think this thing is really helpful for teacher.
    3. There many benefits of an E-Portfolio: first of all it encourages students to publish their writing in the form of an e-portfolio that can be viewed on the Internet, the second benefit is that E-portfolios stimulate us to engage in reflective practices to develop effective learning strategies and to gain technological skills. Thirdly, it is a new media that provides new opportunities like active learning, anytime, anywhere, autonomy, connections to collaborate, continuous improvement, creativity development.

I’ve investigated the list of E-portfolios and the ones that caught my eye are Donald Carlin’s and Lauren’s portfolios.
Donald’s e-portfolio is undoubtedly an example of a mixed type or hybrid E-portfolio. It is a very deep and informative one, with detailed explanations and representation of a vast working and teaching experience, advancement of skills, long and diverse path, demonstration of competence in certain areas, showcase of stellar work in career development and a way of communication and interaction for its readers. The variety of sections, such as biography, tiers, choice of artifacts and student samples with those smaller but even more detailed rubrics, make this e-portfolio even more attractive and professional. It comprises the variety of sources, texts, voice, PDF materials, links, descriptions of activities , examples of students’ work, references to other educational and teachers’ links (edmodo, moodle, canvas,LMS), reflections and suggestions on teaching techniques and efficient activities. He teaches virtually, but at the same time tries to develop effective communicative strategy. One can take this as a good example to follow and what is more important to share and implement as a tool and instruction.
Lauren’s E-portfolio is a different type of document. It looks more as a showcase with the elements of assessment type. Even though it does not have any audio-video tools, it attracts and wins with its well-structured and perfectly –organized forms. Its sections-- home, reader + writer, teacher—each is a virtual “bookshelf” with documents, letters, PDF references, detailed descriptions of her studies and teaching experience. In the sections Lauren talks about her educational achievements and gives in a very professional way the explanation on how to implement technologies in class. It is indeed a hard work to combine literary texts with the technological tools.

In modern society there have been developments of electronic portfolios (e-Portfolios) that are personal, internet based collections of various coursework, artifacts and reflective annotations. Through e-portfolios students can display their best work and material in showing evidence of the student’s personal skills and abilities from the educational experience. By selecting past work from a certain point to the end of their e-portfolio, the student can see how far they have reached from start to finish and can see a clearer direction for their future, as strengths and weaknesses can obviously be seen.Through the e-portfolio, students can now customize their own portfolios with various texts, graphics and other multimedia elements. Work can be saved online and can be continued on from anytime. Since these portfolios are made online, others can simply see your portfolio at the comfort of their own home and online communities can therefore also be made. Exchanging ideas and giving personal feedback to the work of the student can simply be done.

    Assignment 13 Task 1
An e-portfolio is a personal website which contains artifacts. It comes context with reflection. Sometimes e-portfolios are considered documents / resumes posted on sites like FB. In fact it is much more as it combines the use of on-line tools with certain skills which eventually lead to great possibilities like becoming a kind of "safer ground" for future job interviews or graduate school applications.

It seems that e-portfolios offers their "creators" a hige amount of reedom which they can use exploring not only the artifacts they present in them but the manner of the presentation itself. So, based on these 2 key citeria I 've enjoed Lauren's an Danielle's ones. Frankly sopeaking even Lauren's more because for example knowing some of my students' level in English I think few of them woul;dget all of the rest. Lauren has easified the task in such a way so that her e-portfolio is much more accessible and clear. One more important thing is that while cworking on their e-portfolios students do not feel limited whether by style, formats or other elements.

presentations, digital/ audio clips, digital images, videos, books and other teaching materials about a person. It is a new way to present yourself from different domains you participate. This document can be presented not only in a local office but can be sent far away countries saving time and money.
    Task 2.
    I liked Lauren's E-Portfolio, Danielle's E-Portfolio
What type of e-portfolios are they and what is their main function?
They are teacher portfolios, designed to show their professional experience, interests, and plans as individual and as a teacher, I like them because they are in written and the reader can read it as slowly or faster as he can. I like the e-portfolio joined by sound /voice too they are more vivid and an easy way to know about the person if the reader doesn’t like to read or wants to hear the voice of the owner of portfolio.
What sections do the e-portfolios comprise?
They comprise sections like: My professional experience, My interests, My professional plans, My personal life.
How do the e-portfolios help students become more independent learners?
This E- portfolio is very good as the student itself decides what are the most important things that can represent himself, what pictures /photos can best cover the facts of his intelligence. Besides can improve a lot of skills: writing, communicative abilities and critical thinking, that are very useful and important nowadays.

  33. Hello, dear Olga.

    Task 1.
E-portfolio is an electronic tool. It is a personal website where the teacher can communicate, and showcase his skills, experiences and learn. It contains diverse artifacts such as documents and media. Also e-portfolio contextualizes artifacts with reflection for particular audience for example primary clases, graduate school, etc.
    It is teacher's face.
It is not a blog, a website or social page. E-portfolio is more than a blog. It contains artifacts, reflection, a blog where students reflect the information and the teacher receive the feedback.
It contains a lot of video and audio resources, paper-portfolios, pictures, text, presentations, quizes, rubrics, documents, etc.
A teacher should create an e-portfolio because it is an educational and profesional opportunity.
It helps a teacher to tie all his experiences together, create work for all his audience, and showcase his skills. It can help a teacher to prepare for a job or graduate school applications

All these e-portfolios are interesting, but I have chosen 2 of them. The first is Megan's e-portfolio. It is very pretty, accurate and interesting. She is a new graduate and she is studying English and business. So she is writing her e-portfolio for her future employers.
The 2nd e-portfolio is Laura's. She is a graduate student of Auburn University. She writes her e-portfolio for defining herself, her future profesion and identity. She has a page where she writes all she learnt at the university and showcased to a particular audience: a master's portfolio commitee. Her e-portfolio has a lot of artifacts for building the body. It contains different documents and media (prezis, vikis, wordle and more), so all what Auburn had taught her.
